The Cardonnel-Lawsons were a Scottish family who moved to Northumbria during the 1790s. They owned land at Cramlington and later Chirton Village, near North Shields. This miniature portrait has been set into a small frame so it could be worn as a pendant. Muriel Linton was born in Australia. She came to England to study and settled in Oxfordshire.
