' This remarkable auction document from 1865 offers a glimpse into the prestigious estate once owned by the late Francis Newton, esquire. Broombank House, an exquisite freehold residence, takes center stage in this image. Its grandeur is evident as it proudly showcases its large yard, coach house, stable for three horses, outbuildings, pleasure and kitchen gardens. The adjacent land adds to the allure of this magnificent property. Also featured are three charming dwelling houses located at the bottom of the field adjoining Broom bank. These homes have their own approach from Park Lane and are currently tenanted, generating an annual rental income of £66. Preserved within Sheffield Local Studies Library's archives since June 13th 1866.
