Though the exact origins of the pub are unclear, it is believed to have been named after the Newmarket Racecourse in Suffolk, England. Over the years, it has been owned by various breweries and companies, including the Brighton Brewery Company Limited. However, as the back of the print reveals, by July 2017, the Newmarket Arms had been converted to other uses.
