We are the champions... the 4th Golcar Cubs and Scouts who triumphed in the 1991 Huddersfield South-West district swimming galas to win the BP Scout Guild Trophy. The boys beat seven other packs after combining the scores of two swimming galas at Huddersfield Cambridge Road Baths. Winners of the Cub Gala was the 39th Parkwood, who beat Golcar by five points. Joint third were 27th Longwood and 33rd Slaithwaite. Certificates and trophies were presented by district commissioner Geoff Ramm. 29th March 1991

These determined young boys emerged victorious, winning the prestigious BP Scout Guild Trophy after a fierce competition against seven other packs. The road to success was not an easy one for these talented swimmers. Combining their scores from two thrilling swimming galas held at Huddersfield Cambridge Road Baths, they showcased their exceptional skills and teamwork. Although they were narrowly beaten by five points in the Cub Gala by the impressive 39th Parkwood pack, our resilient champions never lost hope. Sharing joint third place with an admirable performance were the 27th Longwood and 33rd Slaithwaite packs. The atmosphere was electric as certificates and trophies were presented by none other than district commissioner Geoff Ramm, adding a touch of honor to this memorable occasion.
